On the one hand, the best possible safety plays a role for the operators of large-scale plants and, on the other hand, they also have to act as economically as possible. The use of flying robots makes inspections safer, quicker and more cost-effective.

Indoor inspection of tanks and silos by flying robot in power plants and industrial plants

Tanks, silos, boilers and tank-like structures, especially larger vertical tanks, are very difficult to inspect. The drone tank inspection provides excellent and sharp images of weld seams, inlets and outlets, nozzles and supports, as well as of the overall structure and corrosion condition of the tank, even in complete darkness.

Drone inspection of expansion joints in industry and power plants

In industrial plants, power stations, sewage treatment plants and wherever pipes are used, expansion joints compensate for movements in the pipes. Compensation is provided mechanically via an elastic bellows. Metal and soft material compensators are most common in the power plant sector; there are also applications in which compensators made of rubber, PTFE or other polymers are used. We can inspect compensators and document their condition using a drone. The inspection of expansion joints by drone does not require the erection of scaffolding.

Constant hangers are used for larger vertical expansion movements of pipelines and plant components. Spring hangers and spring supports are used to compensate small vertical expansion displacements of the pipelines.
