Drone inspection in industrial and power plants

We inspect indoor areas of industrial plants, power plants, vessels and buildings.

" The inspection of inaccessible areas with drones in industrial plants, power plants, vessels and buildings is an elementary aspect of industry 4.0. "

Drone inspection in the field of industrial plants and power plants

On the one hand, the best possible safety plays a role for the operators of large-scale plants and, on the other hand, they also have to act as economically as possible. The use of flying robots makes inspections safer, quicker and more cost-effective.

Indoor inspection of tanks and silos by flying robot in power plants and industrial plants

Tanks, silos, boilers and tank-like structures, especially larger vertical tanks, are very difficult to inspect. The drone tank inspection provides excellent and sharp images of weld seams, inlets and outlets, nozzles and supports, as well as of the overall structure and corrosion condition of the tank, even in complete darkness.

Drone inspection of expansion joints in industry and power plants

In industrial plants, power stations, sewage treatment plants and wherever pipes are used, expansion joints compensate for movements in the pipes. Compensation is provided mechanically via an elastic bellows. Metal and soft material compensators are most common in the power plant sector; there are also applications in which compensators made of rubber, PTFE or other polymers are used. We can inspect compensators and document their condition using a drone. The inspection of expansion joints by drone does not require the erection of scaffolding.

Inspection of pipe support systems by drone in industrial and power plants

Constant hangers are used for larger vertical expansion movements of pipelines and plant components. Spring hangers and spring supports are used to compensate small vertical expansion displacements of the pipelines. The inspection of pipe support systems by drone is quick and safe and eliminates the need for scaffolding.

Inspection of hard-to-reach indoor areas of industrial and power plant buildings

Our drones can easily approach and inspect hard-to-reach areas. An indoor inspection of roofs by drone becomes child's play. Upon request, we can offer you secure long-term archiving of all drone images.

What can be done with drones in the industry?

Reading type plates, measured values from pipe support systems and other systems

We can approach measured values and type plates in hard-to-reach areas and inspect or read them.

Inspection of welding seams, joints and screw connections in industrial plants

In the industry, welding seams and joints of technical equipment are often found in places that are extremely difficult to reach. To ensure safe and reliable operation, systems must always be maintained continuously. The inspection of roof constructions, tanks or pipe support systems is often not possible inside systems using a working platform and requires access with height workers or the erection of expensive and time-consuming scaffolding. Our drone inspections are safe, fast and extremely efficient.

Determine general integrity of technical facilities

In contrast to photos that are taken from a scaffold during inspections or maintenance, the inspection of technical systems by drone provides meaningful pictures of the overall condition of plants. The use of our industrial drones improves work safety and eliminates the need for scaffolding. Inspections can also be carried out during very short downtimes.

Q&A on inspection missions in industrial plants and power plants with drones

The drones can be used to inspect narrow and hard-to-reach parts of the plant from the inside and outside. After the inspection, scaffolding can be erected in a targeted manner. This reduces time and costs.
No, as of today (March 2019), there are no drones suitable for ATEX.
