Welcome to the author page of Christian Engelke, founder and CEO of Kopterflug Inspection Services GmbH. Since 2017, we have been developing intelligent solutions for safe inspections. Born in 1981 in North Germany, Christian studied Business Administration at the University of Bremen after graduating from the Business High School in Syke. Over the past 20 years, he has founded and co-founded several successful businesses, including Kopterflug Holding GmbH, which began as a result of his initial experiences with drones in 2016 and subsequent connections with heavy industry. As a licensed ultralight aircraft pilot since 2010, Christian has also acquired a speech radio license for international aviation (BZF-1) and a knowledge certificate for operating drones from Lufthansa Aviation Training GmbH in Bremen. In 2018, Kopterflug acquired its first indoor drone from Swiss manufacturer Flyability, and it quickly became clear that the company would focus primarily on indoor inspections of technical systems rather than outdoor drone flights. Today, Kopterflug is a well-known name among major industrial companies and energy producers, and Christian is a sought-after speaker at industry events. When he’s not working on customer projects, he’s developing new inspection devices, managing websites, riding his motorcycle, or traveling.
